To put it bluntly, FromSoftware's releases on PC have been severely lacking when stacked up against the competition. First, there was Dark Souls which essentially needed the user-created DSfix that addressed the lacking internal resolution and other graphical issues. More recently there was Elden Ring where, although it's a fantastic game, it was capped to 60FPS and still to this day features severe hitching.

Perhaps that's about to change with FromSoftware's upcoming release of Armored Core 6. Maybe this is the one where the PC version of the game won't be handicapped in some egregious fashion.

According to a report by PC Gamer, Armored Core 6 will feature a 120FPS option on PC. This will be the first FromSoftware release on PC that isn't hard capped at 60FPS. Beyond the option to play Armored Core 6 at 120FPS, there were also typical graphical options included in PC Gamer's preview, including a borderless windowed mode option, togglable V-Sync, and quality options.

The details on the included quality options are apparently lacking though, as PC Gamer points out.

There's a disappointing lack of detail on what each setting does—a tooltip saying that lighting quality "configures the quality of light effects" is pretty much useless—and there's no indication of how much of a performance impact any of them will have. Most of the settings have low/medium/high options, with some adding a maximum as well. Anti-aliasing has only low, high, and off.

One odd but slightly neat touch: the ability to add ray-tracing, but only for when you're designing your mech in the garage between missions. Good for admiring the many metallic texture options for your paint job, I suppose.
Armored Core 6 is expected to be out on August 25 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Elden ring's hitching did get better but is still noticeable at sporadic times. In fact, I played Dark Souls 3 and really got into it, after putting a couple hundred hours into Elden Ring. Reason I bring that up is that I then noticed what felt like the *exact same hitching* in DS3, and it was often related to something to do with my controller.
