Storms Forecast for Next Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Update

This forthcoming update includes new monsters, a level cap increase, and more.

Capcom revealed the free Title Update 5 content that will drop on April 20th for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This new update will offer two additional and challenging monsters to square off against. These are the Risen Shagaru Magala and Amatsu.

Amatsu is a big mean Elder Dragon. It has the ability to bend the weather to its will, which means it can summon storms and lightning strikes. On the flipside, Risen Shagaru Magala just uses pure power to tackle its problems.

Capcom says that Amatsu is available starting at MR10 while Risen Shagaru Magala is unlocked at MR180. Players will get materials and components from taking them down that can be used to craft new gear that comes with its own unique skills.

There are also two additional Risen Elder Dragons to take on via Anomaly Research Quests. The Anomaly Investigation level cap has also been bumped up to 300.

All of the afflicted materials from these hunts can be used at the Melding Pot with the new â€œQurious Meldingâ€ feature that allows for even more skill customization. Youâ€™ll want a perfected loadout before attempting the new Special Investigations that unlock after completing an Anomaly Investigation at level 300. These Special Investigations feature monsters with a variety of power-ups including increased strength and more far-reaching attacks.

More Event Quests are also coming to Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. These events will offer rewards such as new poses, the Bloodmalice Layered Armor, Buff Body Layered Armor, and Lagombi Ears. Capcom is also releasing a new Monster & Elgado Music: Chill Version paid background music pack. Some new paid cosmetics include face paints, layered armor, hairstyles, and more. Sir Jae and Oboro the Merchant voices are also being made available to players. Finally, the hairstyle of the scientist, Bahari, will also be unlocked for players to use.

Capcom is also confusing the hell out of me with their reveal that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows on April 28, 2023. They continue to say that these versions will launch with content up to Title Update 3, with Title Updates 4 and 5 coming out starting Summer 2023. The thing is, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is already out on PC via Steam. I assume when they say "Windows" here they're talking about a Microsoft Store release? If that's the case, it's even more confusing because the Steam version is already on Title Update 4 as of February and will, presumably, get Title Update 5 on April 20th alongside the existing Nintendo Switch release.
