  • The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Release Date Set for May

This precious adventure is just a couple of months out.
Text: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. A husk of a hobbit is perched before a giant, firey all seeing eye.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is expected to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 25. This new title, based on The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien will take you into the mind of Sméagol, or as they are sometimes known, Gollum.

There will be a hands-on preview opportunity for those attending PAX East. Look for the Daedalic Booth #12043.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven action-adventure title. You control Gollum as he embarks across Middle-earth to find the only thing that matters most to him. I believe we all know what that one thing is by now. You will climb, leap, and sneak past dangers. Players are able to choose if they give in to the darker side and go full Gollum or side with the Sméagol side to find less destructive solutions to problems encountered.

The gameplay showcase, seen below, comes from a special live stream that just aired moments ago.

There's a lot to cover so let's get to it.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is ready to release on April 28, 2026. Ahead of that date, Blizzard had a lot to share for this expansion including the debut of the game's opening cinematic, a new developer deep dive stream, the availability of the pre-download, a new original song by KoRn for this expansion, and a partnership with a guitar company. In addition, I'll also share a review roundup for Lord of Hatred.

      First up, Blizzard...

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Reviewing Worse than Crime Boss: Rockay City
      by Shawn Zipay
Gollum manages to be worse than a game with Vanilla Ice.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was released today and I'm willing to bet that this won't be the last time you hear about this game. No, I suspect that you'll hear a bit more about this game when it comes time for some outlets to talk about the worst games released in 2023.

Thus far, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is sitting at just a 43% critic average on OpenCritic with only 5% of all critics actually recommending...

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Delayed
      by Shawn Zipay
It has been pushed back for polishing.

Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon announce that they need more time to work on The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. All they said was that the game has been delayed by "a few months" in order to give the game some more polish. This marks at least the second time that the game has been delayed.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced back in March 2019. At that time, it was planned for release in 2021. Following an agreement...
