To those of you who are still playing the MMORPG Tera, you are probably well aware already that the game servers will be shut down very soon. For the rest of us, the news may come as a surprise. All Tera servers will be shut down on June 30, 2022 at 4AM (ET).

As a final farewell and a thank you from the developers to those still playing the game, Gameforge and Bluehole created a sendoff video. The video, seen below, is called "The Last Quest" and features many of the game's most popular characters expressing their gratitude and bidding farewell to the chosen one.

The studios involved with Tera put up a shutdown FAQ that you can check out if you haven't already done so.

Tera was first released on PC in Korea in early 2011. It made its North American and European debut in May 2012. It was then released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in April 2018.

Why is Tera shutting down?

After careful deliberations, the developers of TERA (Bluehole) have unfortunately taken the difficult decision to end development of the game, as they feel that they are no longer able to provide the satisfying content that TERA players deserve. Instead they would like to focus their internal development efforts on other projects.

Gameforge has happily hosted a great community in TERA for almost 10 years now, and would have happily served players even longer, but without the support of the developers this is not feasible.
