A bunch of other things now want to eat you in addition to the sharks.

The long-awaited version 1.0 release of Raft hit today, marking the game's departure from Steam Early Access to just Steam... access? It's a released game now is what I'm saying. I mean, it's not an Early Access release anymore, if that's what you were waiting on. It is now a fully realized game with fully realized content.

This open-world survival game that used to just focus on you surviving on a tiny raft has grown to be a pretty big game now. While content was added over time, the bulk of it seems to have been waiting for this 1.0 release. There are now three new destinations to find and explore, a big overhaul to the story, new survivor characters, new clothing options, the addition of trading posts, food buffs, new items, a vending machine, and no fewer than four new enemy types.

Those new enemies include: Hyenas, an angry looking bug type called scuttler, anglerfish, and polar bears. New locations include the sunken towers of Varuna Point. There is also Temperance, a snow covered bit of land that is still above water. It's home to a research lab named Selene. The third destination is for those that manage to piece together the story. That means the devs aren't just spilling the beans on this one.

For those who also enjoy some of the finer things on Steam, like trading cards, badges, and profile customization, there's a bunch of that now available too. There are also now 14 new achievements for you to earn while you drift about aimlessly.

The full list of today's changes can be found below. For those interested, there is a 15% discount on Raft from now through to July 7th.
