  • Rockstar Launcher Update Contains Hidden Code for GTA Remastered Trilogy

    In August 2021, rumors about a Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Remaster really started to gain momentum. That particular rumor was fueled by a report from Kotaku that said Rockstar Games is working on remastering Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

    Today, more fuel was added to the fire when Rockstar released a new update for their Rockstar Games Launcher. Twitter user, @videotech_, dove into the updated files to see if any goodies could be discovered, and discovered they were. They found listings for Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas, and Vice City.


    This latest discovery comes about a week after Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee included a rating for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

    Thus far, Rockstar Games has not yet officially announced any such trilogy, but where there's smoke there is usually fire.

        Those on older hardware will no longer be able to create and edit clips.

        For those still playing Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a feature you may not even be aware about will soon be removed. Rockstar Games will be removing the video editing tool, known simply as the Rockstar Editor, from Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The other versions of the game will still retain access to the Rockstar Editor, at least for now.

        Rockstar is feeling particularly giving. Tis the season.

        Though it has been updated with at least one major patch, the current state of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition still isn't particularly great. As a way of apologizing to fans, at least those on the PC, Rockstar Games offered up free copies of the older, non-definitive editions for each game to those that purchased The Trilogy.
