Those of you who have been aching for some fresh football experiences that aren't brought to you by EA or... well, EA is all you've had for a while now, will have to wait a little bit longer. 2K announced that their upcoming and still untitled NFL arcade game has been pushed out of fiscal year 2022. This means that the game's release date will take place after March 2022 at some point.

2K says that they are "very excited to once again be working with the NFL and NFLPA." They continue on to say that "2K will have more to share on their plans for (their) football offerings going forward."

For those that do not remember, 2K and the NFL announced their new partnership back in March 2020. They announced a multi-year partnership at the time to bring fans a more arcade-like football experience while EA continues along the more "realistic" football simulation path with their titles.

Given that the NFL season tends to wrap up around early February, it probably wouldn't make much sense for 2K to release the game when football games aren't even being played. If anything, we will probably see their first offering come when the 2022-2023 football season kicks off around August or September 2022.
