2K's NFL Game Pushed Out of 2021

The first NFL game in years from 2K won't be released until 2022.

Those of you who have been aching for some fresh football experiences that aren't brought to you by EA or... well, EA is all you've had for a while now, will have to wait a little bit longer. 2K announced that their upcoming and still untitled NFL arcade game has been pushed out of fiscal year 2022. This means that the game's release date will take place after March 2022 at some point.

    2K says that they...

Rocket League Getting an NFL Mode

Are you ready for some football?!

A new but temporary game mode is coming very soon to Rocket League. The new mode, called The Gridiron, is the result of a partnership with the NFL for Super Bowl LV. It will see the American style football replace the football that the rest of the world enjoys.

The Gridiron will also offer up a new "Gridiron Guru" player title, NFL wheels for your vehicle, 20,000 XP, and the addition of the NFL Fan Pack to the item shop. I presume...

  • Despite Poor Reviews, Madden NFL 21 Sales Surpass Last Year's Release

Despite Poor Reviews, Madden NFL 21 Sales Surpass Last Year's Release

Madden NFL 21 is also being played more in its first week of availability.

Madden NFL 21 has not reviewed well, and that is putting it nicely. It has been eviscerated in the Metacritic user reviews, becoming the lowest rated game of all time. However, even if you ignore the user reviews (and honestly, who pays attention to those at Metacritic when all you see are 0's or 10's from users), it's also sitting at an average of 63 from professional reviewers, which also isn't all that great....

    EA and NFL Extend Partnership

    Get ready for more Madden.

EA, the NFL, and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), announced a multi-year renewal of their existing partnership. This partnership will mean that EA will be the only studio that can create "authentic football simulation games." Not only that, but this new partnership deal will allow EA Sports the ability to "develop games in new genres, expanded esports programs, and additional experiences for fans across more platforms."

2K to Make NFL Football Games Once Again

The NFL and 2K agree to a multi-year partnership.

The era of EA having exclusive rights to the NFL and NFLPA licenses has come to an end. For some of you out there, all you've known is Madden. Before EA and the NFL entered into an exclusive agreement deal, 2K used to also make football games. They were good. They were very good. Some would say that they were better than the Madden games and, at least for some people, they're still considered better than current Madden games.

Madden NFL 20 Championship Series Announced

    John Madden.

EA and the NFL announced the start of the EA Sports Madden NFL 20 Championship Series (MCS). All four Madden NFL Major tournaments will be held during key NFL moments during the season.

These key moments include the NFL Kickoff, the NFL playoffs push, the Super Bowl, and the NFL Draft. And for those that like sponsors, you may be thrilled(?) to learn that the NFL partners of Pizza Hut and Snickers will also serve as sponsors for the MCS. Apparently these will...

  • Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Named Madden NFL 20 Cover Athlete

Though the Kansas City Chiefs haven't won a Super Bowl since 1970, that isn't stopping EA from having one of their best stars be the Madden NFL 20 cover athlete. I get the feeling Chiefs fans needed something to cheer about today.

If it wasn't obvious, Madden NFL 20 was announced this evening. It will be released on August 2, 2019 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Origin. Those who have Origin Access Premier will apparently get to play it early, but I'm not seeing...

Madden Franchise Surpasses 130 Million Copies Sold

EA just informed us that the entirety of the Madden NFL franchise has surpassed 130 million units sold. The first Madden game was called John Madden Football and it was originally released on MS-DOS. Most current players probably have no idea what in the world DOS even is. Since then it has come out on platforms such as the Genesis, SNES, Windows, every PlayStation platform, Xbox consoles, and more. Even the Madden NFL games have managed to achieve almost 73 million installs over the ye...

  • "Colin Kaepernick" Line Censored in Madden NFL 19 Song, EA Says It was a "Misunderstanding"

Rapper Big Sean is pissed off today after learning that EA and the NFL have censored his song, Big Bank, on the Madden NFL 19 soundtrack. Editing and censoring songs isn't an unusual thing when it comes to licensed tracks in video games. However, unlike other songs that will remove curse words or other offensive words, this censoring removed a line about Colin Kaepernick from the song. This censoring looks like it was noticed first by Twitter user @jeanclervil early this morning. ...

"I am beyond honored to be on the cover of both Madden games," said Brown. "There's a lot of milestones athletes dream of, and after being inducted into the Madden 99 Club earlier this year, and now appearing on the cover

Madden NFL 18 Predicts a Patriots Win in Super Bowl 52

EA Sports' Madden NFL 18 once again predicts a win for the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Yep, Madden is calling for back to back wins for the Patriots. They are saying they will beat the Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 24 to 20. And naturally, Tom "Deflated Balls" Brady, aka the cover athlete for Madden NFL 18, walked away with the MVP from the simulated game. Let's just go ahead and see a breakdown of the entire game. I mean, EA was kind enough to pass it all along to us...
