Square Enix passed along a reminder to us that there is an open beta weekend on our doorstep. From August 21-23, players on all platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) will be able to download and play the open beta for Marvel's Avengers. If it's anything like the closed betas over the previous couple of weekends, there will be a lot of content included in this weekend's beta.
Specifically, you are looking at four of the game's single-player campaign Hero missions, three HARM Room challenges, four War Zones, and five Drop Zones. There is literally hours of content here and if you have not yet experienced it, you will have a lot of single player gameplay to play through before you unlock the multiplayer component of the beta.
There will also be some special incentives here for players. Those on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that link their Square Enix accounts and Epic Games accounts and then complete the beta's three HARM Room challenges will be able to earn the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe with bonus Hulkbuster style in Fortnite.
Remember that for this open beta, you do NOT need to have pre-ordered the game in order to participate. It is open to everyone on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
Marvel's Avengers will be fully released on September 4, 2020 for the current-gen consoles and PC. There will be upgrades for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X coming this Holiday season.

Marvel’s Avengers offers players a truly rich experience, with a combination of Hero Missions and War Zones. Hero Missions are single-player only and are part of the initial Campaign. They are designed to showcase each hero’s unique abilities as you reassemble your growing roster. War Zones can be played solo or with a group of up to four players** as any Hero in your roster. Marvel’s Avengers is an ambitious game, starting with a global high-stakes race to reassemble and rebuild the Avengers. But that’s just the beginning. To ensure a continuing heroic experience for all players, the narrative of Marvel’s Avengers expands, and threats escalate with each new post-release Super Hero, region and story arc delivered to players at no additional cost once they own the core game.
