One of the best action-RPGs I've played in recent memory, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, is now available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Capcom has brought over what is essentially the PC release of the game for the current generation of consoles. This includes a bump in visual fidelity and a package that includes the base game and the Dark Arisen expansion.
The dragons have returned to Gransys and now you can become the chosen Arisen and decide the fate of the world as the critically acclaimed hit Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today, October 3rd, 2017.

Based in an epic fantasy setting, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen combines exhilarating and deep combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich living and breathing world. Choose between nine different classes and embark on your own adventure along with three trusted AI companions known throughout the land as Pawns. These allies fight independently and develop as you embark on your journey cutting off the four heads of a Hydra beast, climbing atop griffins and defeating many more terrifying enemies in exhilarating combat.

All the content from the original Dragon’s Dogma is included in this package for current generation consoles along with the Dark Arisen expansion which includes the Bitterblack Isle map area complete with challenging new enemies, quests and additional high level weapons and armour sets. All of the content in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen features higher resolution graphics for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen can be yours for just $29.99 (USD) for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

      Critical Consensus: Dragon's Dogma 2
      by Shawn Zipay
An improvement over the original but with some severe performance woes.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is expected to be released on March 22 but the reviews have already started to pour in. The reviews have been extremely favorable for Dragon's Dogma 2 so far, with most outlets saying that this sequel improves upon the original. However, some of the flaws of the first game are not addressed in this sequel and the performance across all platforms, especially on PC, leaves a lot to be desired....

Critical Consensus: Alone in the Dark
      by Shawn Zipay
Fails to live up to others in the genre this franchise helped to create.

The Alone in the Dark reboot was just released today and it seems like the reviews have placed it firmly in the realm of being merely ok but with some serious shortcomings. This release from Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic currently sits at a 62% critical average on OpenCritic, with only 42% of reviewers recommending this new release.

Interestingly, the actual scores for this game range everywhere...
