Some free DLC is coming soon to Firewatch. The enjoyable adventure title from Campo Santo doesn't seem like it would be a game that lends itself to DLC but that's where you'd be wrong.

The first piece of content will be the Firewatch Audio Tour. This mode allows you to pick up over 100 different tapes as you make your way through the story. As you may already suspect, these tapes are a form of developer commentary that touches on all aspects of the game. Different tapes will appear in different places as a sort of scavenger hunt.

Another piece of DLC is also coming for Firewatch. This one will actually turn the game into a "walking simulator" according to Campo Santo's Jake Rodkin. All equipment will be unlocked from the start in this mode, allowing you to go and explore anything at any time. In this mode you won't have your radio but you will instead have the tape p layer allowing you to listen to the soundtrack as you explore.

There's more on this over at RPS.

Xbox One owners will get to experience Firewatch for the first time on September 21.
