January 20, 2016 - Celebrating 20 years of licensing Unreal Engine technology, Epic Games is proud to sponsor the 2016 D.I.C.E. Summit, being held February 16-18 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), the D.I.C.E. Summit is an exclusive, high-level gathering of the brightest and most creative minds across many industries to discuss the trends and the future of the interactive entertainment industry.This year’s conference theme will speak to the Art of Engagement.
As part of Epic's participation, developers from the studio will crown D.I.C.E. attendees with the latest Oculus Rift headset and place the new Oculus Touch controls in their hands so they can experience Bullet Train, the new VR experience built with Unreal Engine 4 which was unveiled onstage at Oculus Connect 2 and met with critical acclaim.
"VR puts you into experiences in a way never before possible, and with Bullet Train we're using that immersive aspect to deliver an over-the-top experience inspired by our favorite action movies from the '90s and '00s. Wield a variety of weapons, grab bullets out of the air to throw them back at your adversaries, and battle huge flying robots all while teleporting around the environment fluidly," said Ray Davis, Epic's Seattle studio manager. "The D.I.C.E. Summit provides a great opportunity for folks to check out our latest VR demo and get an idea of what the possibilities are with this emerging medium."
Bullet Train will be playable at the D.I.C.E. Arcade, the conference hub where attendees gather to network and meet that has become increasingly popular in recent years at the Summit, on February 17 and 18 from 9am-7pm. No appointment for the Bullet Train Arcade Experience Room is necessary.

Summit where in 2012, Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney was inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame in recognition of past contributions and its 20-year anniversary. Infinity Blade II was also awarded AIAS’ Mobile Game of the Year at the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit, and Gears of War was honored with several AIAS Awards in 2007, including Overall Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, and Action/Adventure Game of the Year, among many others. Epic Games has been an AIAS member since 2007.
