Initial reports said that Hideo Kojima was in talks with Sony to form a new studio. It was said that it would be Hideo Kojima and former Kojima Productions staff working alongside Sony. However, updated news now says that only part of that is true. Kojima is reportedly still forming his own studio with former Kojima Productions staff. Except that instead of being partnered with Sony, he is forming an independent studio with negotiations being made with Sony to have their first game debut on PlayStation. For those getting their hopes up for Kojima continuing the Metal Gear franchise or even Silent Hills, think again. Those properties are still owned by Konami. Of course, that doesn't mean Kojima won't end up making a horror game based off of the ideas found in P.T. or Silent Hills.

As for Kojima, I can't wait for his non-compete clause in his contract to expire (assuming Konami has one for him). Or for his contract in general to frickin' terminate already. It's hard to enjoy a "paid" vacation while "employed" when you're legally obligated to avoid certain places. Aside from a horror game (with so much metagaming to interact with the player), I also want to see more games like Boktai/Lunar Knights (or rather spiritual successors to them assuming Konami owns the IP). Or even a spiritual successor to Policenauts. I also want spiritual successors to Gradius, Contra, Blades of Steel, popular franchise as a 4-player arcade fighter (TMNT, Simpsons, X-Men, Sunset Riders, etc.), Bemani Games (DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, Keyboard Mania), and... Uh... Jackal I guess? Sure let's include Jackal as well. That said, if Kojima and former KP staff were to do it... It would probably suck pretty bad since they had nothing to do with any of those games.
Well Konami, have fun with Pro Evolution Soccer, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pachislots, and Pachinko. Your Yu-Gi-Oh mobile game still overheats my phone after fifteen minutes by the way (and has been that way for a little over a year now). Kind of hoping the battery explodes so I can get injured and sue your evil rich corporation. Can't sue my phone manufacturer because NO OTHER GAME/APP DOES THAT.
