In case you were starting to come down off your high from the most recent Steam Fest, that being the Steam VR Fest that ended just three days ago, Valve has you covered already. On August 1st, the Steam Survival Fest will begin!
From August 1 - August 8, Steam will run the Steam Survival Fest. It will include demos. It will include discounts on games. The only thing it won't include is mud to build a hut out of and jars for you to pee into. You'll have to supply your own mud and jars for this one.
And if all of these fests weren't enough to satiate your cravings for sales, oh just you freaking wait! In September, there's apparently a Steam Bash Bash (Fest?) for those that like character action games, hack-and-slash, and spectacle fighters. October will see the return of the Steam Next Fest. There will probably be a Halloween Sale later in October. Then the Autumn Sale in late November, and then we'll end it all with the Steam Winter Sale at the end of the year.
How many more fests will there be added in? The sky is the limit. You'll know Valve ran out of fest ideas when they have one that focuses on a really niche segment like Games That are Like Legend of Zelda but You Play as an Alien and the Grass is Red Fest. I give it about a year before we're there and then at that point we circle back and do them all over again.
