    Artifact from Valve
Valve has released a new game. I hope you were sitting down for that one because that sentence probably knocked you on your ass and tea bagged you.

Valve's Artifact has been released on Steam for $19.99 (USD). It's a card battling game based around Dota 2 characters, locations, and abilities. It was created alongside the famous designer Richard Garfield, so it has a high chance of being pretty damn good.

We have a new trailer to show off with you today. In addition, there is another comic that you can read. This one is called "Call to Arms." Call to Arms also happens to be the name of the game's first set.
The trailer gives a taste of the exciting, competitive gameplay in Artifact. The latest Artifact comic, Call to Arms, sets the stage for a series of events that will transform the world of Dota. And the new Call to Arms web page details the latest additions to the game.

"We hope all gamers enjoy Artifact, especially fans of Dota 2 and card gaming enthusiasts," said Valve's Gabe Newell. "Working with Richard Garfield has been an incredible opportunity for everyone at Valve, and we look forward to expanding the game with him based upon feedback and input from the community."

"Working on Artifact has been fantastic - a digital card game which really leverages what is made possible by the medium rather than being limited by it," said Richard Garfield. "That has been a long time dream of mine and Valve has been a terrific partner in the development."

Today's launch also includes the opening of the Artifact Marketplace, where owners of the game can sell and purchase cards from other players.

      Valve Ditches Artifact 2.0
      by Shawn Zipay
      Makes the original game F2P.

Valve is giving up on the idea of Artifact 2.0. This was their attempt to perform drastic overhauls to Artifact after the game was deemed a failure by fans and developers alike. It was a reboot, of sorts. Valve says that they have "accomplished most of (their) game-side goals, (but they) haven't managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time."

So, development on the Artifact 2.0...
