  • Valve Ditches Artifact 2.0

    Valve Ditches Artifact 2.0

    Makes the original game F2P.

Valve is giving up on the idea of Artifact 2.0. This was their attempt to perform drastic overhauls to Artifact after the game was deemed a failure by fans and developers alike. It was a reboot, of sorts. Valve says that they have "accomplished most of (their) game-side goals, (but they) haven't managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time."

So, development on the Artifact 2.0...

Source 2 Engine Might Get RTX Support Soon

Ray tracing support mentioned in Artifact's game files.

Valve recently made an update to their digital card game Artifact. That isn't the big news here, what is the big news is that hidden within the files were a couple of references to RTX and real-time ray tracing. This marks the first time that any sort of ray tracing support was noticed in any of Valve's Source 2 files.

The mentions were first discovered by SteamDB creator Pavel Djundik. Djundik noticed that the latest...

  • Twitch is Suing Users that Posted Porn, Violence, Racism, and More to Artifact Section

The company says these users harmed their business.

In March 2019, a bunch of idiots got together and flooded the Artifact section on Twitch with all sorts of random content. This seemed to include everything from multiple hour loops of "Ayaya" to things like showing full copyrighted Hollywood films like Avengers: Endgame, full episodes of various copyrighted television shows like Malcolm in the Middle, a whole lot of uncensored hardcore porn like raw gachi (NSFW if you decide to search for it), to uncensored footage of the Christchurch mosque terror attack, and an assortment of videos full of extreme racism and misogyny.

In other words, it was a real shitshow. ...

Artifact is Out Now from Valve

Valve's Artifact has been released on Steam for $19.99 (USD). It's a card battling game based around Dota 2 characters, locations, and abilities. It was created alongside the famous designer Richard Garfield, so it has a high chance of being pretty damn good. We have a new trailer to show off with you today. In addition, there is an...

  • Valve Released an Artifact Comic

    Valve Released an Artifact Comic

Just two days ahead of the release of Artifact, Valve did what Valve does best and released a new comic. It's called "Prelude" and it serves as a prelude to their upcoming card battling game. A second comic called "Call to Arms" will drop on Wednesday. These comics "sets the stage for a series of events that will transform the world of Dota forever." So, are they changing the base Dota game as a result? Because if not, that seems like a kind of silly thing to say about Artifact, no? Any...

  • Valve Delays Artifact Beta

    Valve Delays Artifact Beta

Valve's beta for Artifact has been delayed until November 19. The beta was supposed to begin this month but that isn't happening. There is also concern that the game itself, which is still slated to begin on November 28, will also be pushed back due to the very late start on the beta.

PC Gamer seems to be the first outlet to notice this delay. They spotted a tweet by Wykrhm Reddy, a known tester for Valve, in which the November 19 date was prominently featured for the start of...

Valve Made a New Game. It's a Dota Card Game. Yeah, I know.

Valve finally made a new game. It's a collectible card battling game based on Dota called Artifact. Actually, it seems as though the full title is Artifact - The Dota Card Game, just in case there was any grey room remaining on it being tied to Dota. They announced it this evening during The International 7 and man that crowd reaction was priceless. There isn't anything known about this game outside of the fact that it's coming in 2018 and Valve has released a teaser for the game. Given...
