Today, Microsoft is laying off 2.1% of its workforce. This equates to 4,800 people that are being let go. The company's XBOX division is cutting about 20% of its entire workforce. All of this is being done in an effort to cut costs due to rising prices and expenses brought about by artificial intelligence (AI).
Starting January 2028, Sony will no longer produce physical discs for new PlayStation game releases. All games released in January 2028 and after will be available only through digital stores such as the PlayStation Store.
Sony attempts to justify this move by claiming it's a "natural direction" in order to "adapt to consumer trends as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs."...

This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.
Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion marks a significant step forward in the narrative that was originally set in motion during the initial campaign and furthered by the events of the Vesse...

EA Unable to Recover 60% of Corrupt Madden NFL Franchise Saves
Looks like EA really fumbled this one.
There was a period of about 22 hours where, if you logged into Madden NFL 23, there was a chance your Connected Franchise Mode saves became permanently corrupted. The 22-hour long span took place from December 28 through December 29. Those dates happened to come just after EA told players they were good to log in and play. Oops.
Now, the good news here is that if you logged into the game during this time there is a 40% chance that...

Steam Users Chose Some Interesting Winners for The Steam Awards 2022
Do you agree or disagree with each winner?
The Steam community has spoken and the winners of The Steam Awards for 2022 have been selected. Like all of the nominees, the winners were picked strictly by the Steam community. Surely, the Steam users have a good head about them and wouldn't pick something like the actually terrible VR version of Hitman 3 for VR Game of the Year, right?
Yeah, about that.
The winners can be found below. I have put all winners in...
I won't lie. I fully expected there to be far more news to post today (January 2, 2023) given that it's the start of the week and the holidays are "technically" over. What I failed to realize is that a ton of people are still off work due to the New Year falling on a Sunday.
Thus, here I am opting to do a little write-up about what games I'm looking forward to in 2023 instead of sitting around doing nothing. Who knows, maybe you're looking forward to these games as well. If I missed some games ...
2023 has been dubbed "the year of Payday 3" from the game's developers at Overkill Software. The next installment of this cooperative heist-focused franchise looks like it may finally be released this year. The news came alongside a new Steam page for Payday 3 that went live over the weekend.
The page includes a short teaser video (seen below) showing off some fireworks going off over New York while some shadowy figures...
One-button games have a kind of mystical quality. Given how straightforward their controls are, you would have assumed that these games wouldn't provide much in the way of gameplay. What can you really accomplish with only one button, after all. Nevertheless, despite this significant restriction, one button games may feature remarkably intricate game mechanics (just look at the fully-fledged RPG in this list). Additionally, certain one-button games, like Poto and Cabenga, may really provide players...
It is time once more to talk about the best games that have come out over the past year. As the case has been with previous years, this list of games only includes the titles that I have personally played to some degree. In addition, the games on this list are games that were released in 2022 unless otherwise stated for some specific reason.
As I am the only one posting content on the site, this is as much a "Total Gaming Network Game of the Year" as it is my personal Game of the Year selection. ...

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?
For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
