  • Black Ops 6 Cosmetics Won't Carry Over to Black Ops 7

Cosmetics in Black Ops 7 will be "crafted to fit the Black Ops identity."

All that money you spent on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 cosmetics won't matter when Black Ops 7 is released on November 14, 2025. In a new blog post, Activision says that they "hear the feedback" when it comes to cosmetics in recent Call of Duty titles.

They say that they want "to deliver a better balance towards the immersive, core Call of Duty experience."

We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty. Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you.
Activision notes that Operator and Weapon content from Black Ops 6 will not carry over to Black Ops 7. Things such as Double XP tokens and GobbleGums will carry over from 6 to 7. They also specify that Call of Duty: Warzone is not affected by these content restrictions. I'm sure all of those Beavis and Butt-Head players in Warzone are breathing a sigh of relief.

This move from Activision seems to have been decided after the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reveal. That reveal included a preview of the more expensive Vault Edition, which featured a handful of skins that are already quite absurd. You can see those in the image below.
