An upcoming mod for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will add in multiplayer content from 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The upcoming release of the mod coupled with a 50% discount on Steam has pushed the now seven-year-old Modern Warfare Remastered into Steam's top seller list.
The mod in question for Modern Warfare is called H2 Multiplayer Mod and what it does is add in Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer content such as maps, modes, weapons, and more into the remaster. The mod has started to be distributed to content creators and some streamers but won't be out for the public until August 16. At release, the mod will have its own launcher. You will obviously need to have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered installed prior to installing the mod.
The hype for this mod, coupled with a 50% off sale for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, has momentarily pushed the title into the third slot on the Top Sellers list on Steam for the US and the eighth slot globally. The sale is almost over though. As of this news going live, there will only be about 20 hours left to get Modern Warfare Remastered for 50% off. Alternatively, Modern Warfare Remastered is also included with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which is 60% off.
