Season 3 was confirmed today with a few early details revealed.

Season 02 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just kicked off today. This new season has been talked about by Activision for several weeks now. You might have seen a news post or two about it on this very site. Even though Season 02 literally came out hours ago, it's never too early to talk about the next season, right?

Season 03 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was officially confirmed by Activision. The announcement came at the trail end of today's massive changelog for Season 02. We won't share that changelog in this article due to the fact that it's roughly one mile long. If you'd like a bit of a short version, you can always see what was said about the Season 02 roadmap that was revealed prior.


At the end of the full Season 02 changelog is a look ahead to the future. We know that there will be another major "Reloaded" update for Season 02. This will add in a new episode for the raid, new multiplayer modes, a new 6v6 multiplayer map, and more.

We were also told a tiny bit about what to expect in Season 03. Activision confirms that Gun Fight will return to multiplayer along with new maps. The Plunder mode will return to Warzone. This is where you collect as much money as possible by finding it in the world or completing various tasks. The team with the most money at the end is declared the winner. Season 03 will also introduce Warzone Ranked for those who feel like regular battle royale just isn't sweaty enough.
