Activision has finally revealed the full roadmap for all of Season 02 for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. The roadmap includes new maps for the competitive multiplayer, a new DMZ map, the return of franchise favorite game modes, new weapons, a new vehicle, the addition of ranked play, and more. This second season of content will begin on February 15 at 9AM (PT).

A big ol' blog post went up on CallofDuty.com today that goes over the roadmap.

For Warzone 2.0, Activision is bringing back the Resurgence game mode. Resurgence, along with DMZ, will be played out on a new Warzone map, Ashika Island. Warzone 2.0 will also add in new contracts, new public events, and more.

Here is what the blog says about Ashika Island specifically.

Resurgence gets a new front: a compact, Japanese-themed map called Ashika Island, which is roughly 30% larger than previous small maps.

Developed by High Moon Studios, Ashika Island is a centuries-old village currently under siege by Shadow Company forces. After dropping in through the mist, Operators can navigate an ancient shipwreck and ruins, modern apartments and town center, a sprawling beach club, a bustling port, an organic farm, or the fortified castle that looms over the entire island. They may even discover plenty of rooftop pathways or the underground waterway networks that can be used for stealthier maneuvers.
Resurgence returns from the first Warzone. In Warzone 2.0 it will be available for all squad sizes with the idea being that players will get to respawn into the match if squadmates are still alive. The respawn timer increases as the play area shrinks. The countdown can be shortened a bit if teammates "perform specific in-game actions such as eliminating enemies." As with typical Battle Royale, the last squad standing at the end is the winner.

Activision also talks a bit about a new feature that they're calling "Restore Honor."

Every Operator on Ashika Island will drop a dog tag upon death once per match (Resurgence or Battle Royale), which can either be picked up by a squadmate or themselves after redeploying. Doing so grants a small Cash reward, as well as a single UAV ping that marks both enemy threats and nearby Supply Boxes.

Whether it is finding out who downed a squadmate or getting a head start on rebuilding a Loadout, choosing to Restore Honor is a solid strategy for continued survival.
New contracts are coming in Season 02. The first is Search and Seizure, where you try to reclaim stolen vehicles, be they an SUV or a Patrol Boat. You're taking these from Shadow Company forces somewhere on the island. You're tasked with taking out the enemy, picking up the dropped key from one of their bodies, and then getting the vehicle safely to a designated drop-off location. Obviously, the Shadow Company will try to stop you before arriving at your destination.

A public event, Data Heist, is also being added. When the second circle collapses, there will be three uplink stations that come online around the map. Players will try to download intel from them for which they will be rewarded with things like XP, cash, and a random piece of Tactical Equipment. More rewards will be given based on the number of stations hacked by your squad.

Progress towards completing the hack can be sped up by killing A.I. controlled Shadow Company combatants. Conversely, progress can be halted by other players contesting the area or by using a DDOS Field Upgrade.

Season 2.0 will also introduce an updated Gulag that changes the format to 1v1 duels. There will also be some changes made to armor plate vests and backpacks in Warzone, customizable Perk Packages, Redeploy Drones, a new A.I. combatant called Rusher, and more.

New modes for the competitive multiplayer include: Infected, Gun Game, Grind, One in the Chamber, All or Nothing, and Hardcore. Four new maps are coming, including two for 6v6 game types, and two for larger game types like Ground War. Dome and Valderas Museum are coming to the smaller playlists. Zaya Observatory and Al Malik International will be for the larger game types.

Season 02 also adds five new weapons to the game, three being locked to the Battle Pass. New weapons include: ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle (Battle Pass), KV Broadside Shotgun (Battle Pass), Dual Kodachis Melee Weapon, Crossbow, Tempus Torrent (Midseason). There's also a new lethal equipment item: Shuriken.

A new personal watercraft vehicle (it's a jet ski) is also coming. A new Operator, Ronin, will be available at the start of Season 02. Players can now also hit Prestige 10, which is unlocked at level 500. Each Prestige rank now also unlocks a new set of Challenges, which can be completed for Calling Cards.

Of course, there will be a Store refresh for Season 02 with new cosmetic items you can optionally purchase.
