If this leaked artwork is to be believed, Call of Duty will make a return to WWII in its 2017 release. Artwork depicting Call of Duty: WWII surfaced today from Reddit and "TheFamilyVideoGamers" on YouTube.The original leak seems to come from the person that leaked the first details about Infinite Warfare's multiplayer ahead of its reveal, so there might be something to this. Despite how authentic these images may be, it is still advised to take them with a grain of salt. However, the last official word we heard on Call of Duty 2017 came from Activision. The company stated back in February that the franchise would be going "back to its roots."

I've enjoyed every COD game i've played up to now, i don't place any huge expectations on the games like a lot of people seem to, they do what they're trying to do well. What interests me the most about a potential new WW2 based game is less the setting and more what it means for gameplay, less gadgets, less scopes, less crazy movement, less verticality. My favourite COD games are the ones where things are removed, or rather trimmed, it's what i wanted from BF1 but it clearly wasn't designed with that idea in mind.
