The teams that make up Battlefield Studios just shared a new update for the Battlefield 6 community. There is a bit of good news and a bit of bad news in this one.
The bad news is that Season 2 for Battlefield 6 has been delayed. Instead of releasing on January 20th, Battlefield 6 Season 2 will now launch on February 17th. Battlefield Studios says that they need extra time to "further polish and refine Season 2." Battlefield Studios also notes that they have been implementing changes based on community feedback, which may account for some of the additional time needed as well.
The good news here is that Season 1 will be extended with some additional content. This new content includes new weekly challenges, a new Bonus Path, and a "continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass." On top of the new content, Battlefield 6 will receive a new title update. Details on this update were not shared yet, but we do know that the update is expected to drop on January 20th with the Season 1 extension.
Frostfire Bonus Path
Starting on January 27, there will be new rewards to unlock in the Frostfire Bonus Path. Rewards include a new Weapon Package, Soldier Skin, and XP Boosts. Free rewards in the Frostfire Bonus Path include a Hardware XP Boost, Vehicle Skin, and playercard customization items. Those who own the Season 1 Battle Pass will get additional content such as a new Weapon Package, Career XP Boost, and other unnamed customization options.
The Frostfire Bonus Path can be completed concurrently alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass. In other words, you do not need to choose to make progress between a Season 1 Battle Pass Path - i.e. Rogue Ops, Soldiers Of Fortune - and the Frostfire Bonus Path. Each Bonus Path Tier requires 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock, which means you need to earn 110 Bonus Path points to complete the Bonus Path.
Valentine's Day Duos
Details on this event are a bit scarce, but it sounds like there will be a special duo focused event for Valentine's Day. I have to assume this one is for the REDSEC battle royale mode in particular. If the idea of duos or battle royale in particular aren't your cup of tea, Battlefield Studios says that there will be bonuses made available to everyone to enjoy. These bonuses include another set of Daily Login Rewards, similar to what was done for the holidays and New Years. There will also be "several Double XP Weekends throughout the update period." The "update period" being the entirety of the Season 1 extension and not just limited to the Valentine's Day stuff.
