David Sirland, the lead producer on Battlefield 6, is ready to get back to work after returning from a bit of a vacation. Sirland's first order of business was to take to Twitter (Nitter link) to ask the Battlefield 6 community one question: "What irks you with BF6 right now?"
The post has already pulled in over three-quarters of a million views and over 2,500 replies. While there are no doubt a ton of fake views and replies made, a considerable amount of real feedback was given to Sirland. Sirland took the time to actually respond to several of the complaints and suggestions.
Sirland tackled some of the more pressing issues brought up by fans. He covers issues regarding bot players, dispersion, bugs, maps, and more. He even hinted at some of the fixes we can expect from the next major Battlefield 6 update, which is expected to arrive in the "near future."
Bots
When it comes to bots, Sirland says that bots are only needed to seed servers and will be replaced by real players as they join the game. However, he notes that this feature may not always work as intended.Server browser
There will apparently be official servers coming to the server browser soon. Sirland also notes that they haven't done a particularly good job of highlighting content that people are actually playing "and will be improved for sure." Further refinements to the server browser user experience will also be made in the future.Party size
Sirland says that it's a "priority" for his team to allow players to queue up with more than four players at a time. From what I've seen, Sirland does not suggest that they plan to increase the squads above four players though.Drone exploit
An exploit that allows players to ascend to such great heights with the drone and a hammer will be fixed in the next patch.Hit registration
Sirland says that the team has identified a bug with hit registration. He says that an update to fix this bug is coming.Controller aim assist
Aim assist with controllers will be getting some sort of adjustments. Sirland says that they are "doing pretty large things with this" and that there will be more info coming soon on the controller aim assist adjustments.UI
When it comes to the main menu user interface, Sirland notes that "this is for sure an area of constant improvement and potential." He continues on to note that there are "several things in play here already," suggesting that we'll start to see some changes made in the near future.Maps and Map Sizes
Sirland says that more maps are obviously coming. Fans have obviously been craving larger maps, but Sirland did not say if the upcoming maps would actually be bigger and more expansive but does know that they "need more of the large sandbox" type of maps.Existing maps will also have some issues fixed and they say that they will make changes to existing maps "when necessary" to make them play better. He goes on to agree with a fan that says Blackwell has some major issues regarding sight lines that allow vehicles to just camp in their base. Furthermore, he also says that the flight space is too tight on that map.
