The latest entry in the Sniper Elite franchise is just around the corner. Today, Rebellion shared a new gameplay trailer for Sniper Elite: Resistance, which should give you a basic understanding of the key gameplay features and various game modes.
Sniper Elite: Resistance features a new story that plays out in parallel to the story in Sniper Elite 5. Resistance places you in the shoes of a new lead protagonist, Harry Hawker. Hawker is an agent of the Special Operations Executive and an expert marksman. He's sent deep undercover into an occupied France where he will fight alongside the Resistance as they discover "an insidious new Wunderwaffe that would turn the tide of the war."
Rebellion notes that Sniper Elite: Resistance's campaign can be played in its entirety solo or with online co-op. The Invasion Mode also returns from Sniper Elite 5. This will allow players to drop into each other's game as an enemy sniper during campaign missions. There are also competitive multiplayer game modes to hop into if you want.
New in Resistance is the Propaganda Mode. These missions are unlocked by finding Propaganda posters hidden within the main campaign. This mode will have you playing as a Resistance fighter in a series of quick fire challenges and a race against time.
Beyond that, other features are back in Resistance. These include the X-ray kill cams, plenty of weapon customization options, hidden workbenches, and the freedom on how you go about completing each mission.
Sniper Elite: Resistance is out on January 30 for Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store starting at $49.99. There is also a Deluxe Edition that includes Season Pass content, two day advance access, and other bonus items.
Snipers who pre-order Sniper Elite: Resistance will receive a bonus new Target Führer campaign mission, an additional weapon skin and the powerful Karabiner 98 Rifle. In addition to the bonuses included with the Standard Edition, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition will also offer fans the classic M1911 Pistol and two days early access to the game.
