  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Concludes with a Major Cop Out

Oh, they were clones the whole time.
Members of the Suicide Squad and Justice League depicted indicating that the Justice League was cloned and the real Justice League is ok and not evil.

The final update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League came out. This update marks the end of support for the game who's biggest claim to fame is outliving Concord. The update includes the final additional content, the addition of an offline mode, and a final motion comic that wraps up the story.

It's that final cutscene that has the Internet all abuzz this evening. My apologies first and foremost to the handful of you still playing if you were spoiled about this ending here. However, if you don't want to play through the game to see how it ends (who can blame you?), then we've embedded it below courtesy of Worsty72 on YouTube.

The short of it is that all of the evil members of the Justice League were just clones created by Brianiac. The real Justice League members are still alive and well and not evil. When Batman got shot in the head and killed by Harley Quinn? It was just an evil clone getting shot.

Well, everyone is alive and well except for Wonder Woman. She was apparently the only member of the Justice League that wasn't captured and cloned so when she died in the story, that was it.

Of course, if Rocksteady ever wanted to bring Wonder Woman back in any future title they could. They could just pull in a Wonder Woman from an alternate universe, or claim "oh she was actually cloned but we never knew." Hell, they could just never acknowledge anything from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League because like all other video games and comics none of it matters.

At least Sony was satisfied enough to put it up as a PlayStation Plus Monthly game, along with Dreams and Saints Row (2022). I mean hooray Suicide Squad isn't a GAAS anymore, but... Still not interested in playing this even with the option to download it to my PS5 at any time (that I remain subscribed).

Seeing as both huge comic publishers have multiverses, I really don't see how anyone gets emotionally connected to any of this. Clones? That's no worse than, say, a dead Batman who came from universe #69.

Sony Kicks 2025 Off by Punishing PlayStation Plus Subs with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
    by Shawn Zipay
Maybe the other games will make up for it.

The January 2025 PlayStation Plus monthly games were announced by Sony. These are the games that will be offered to all PlayStation Plus subscribers starting January 7th.

Sony seems to believe that the highlight out of this month's bunch is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. I think most people would probably disagree with that assessment though. The other major titles being offered this month include Need for Speed Hot...

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Blamed for Tanking WB's Financials
    by Shawn Zipay
The company even took an impairment charge from the game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League wasn't a terrible game but it also wasn't what most people would consider "good" either. It was so very not good that it quite negatively impacted Warner Bros. Discovery's latest financial quarter.

According to their latest Q1 financial results, WB Discovery said that its Games revenue declined significantly. All told, the company saw a $200 million hit to revenues...
