Sony is not backing down from requiring a PlayStation Network account for their PC game releases. With about three months to go before the launch of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Sony makes it clear that you will need a PSN account for this purely single player title.
This requirement was first spotted by VGC. When browsing the Steam page for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, it's made evident that a PSN account is required.
Once again this means that Steam users in over 100 countries will not be able to purchase the game on Steam. This is due to Sony not having any sort of PlayStation Network presence in those countries.
