The Astronauts share that their shooter-RPG, Witchfire, is coming to Steam Early Access in 2024. With only a quarter of the year remaining, that seems to indicate that the release will be happening soon. For now, you can add the game to your Steam Wishlist if so desired. You can alternatively just buy the game right now through the Epic Games Store where the game has been available for about a year.
Specifically, Witchfire released on Epic on August 20, 2023. This could be a bit of an indication on about when it will hit Steam if the Epic exclusivity period was for one year.
Those that currently own the game on Epic will get to play the newly released Wailing Tower update. This update includes a new map to explore, new enemies, loot, gear, and features. This update adds elements of cosmic horror to Witchfire and also offers the first new raid map since the game's release.
Arcana power-ups now feature “prophecies” and “curses” to benefit and challenge players, respectively, while the souls of fallen preyers can be called upon to aid you in your quest against new foes. In addition to gear and gameplay updates, compelling music tracks from composers Marcin Przybyłowicz (The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077), P.T. Adamczyk (Gwent, Cyberpunk 2077) and Paweł Błaszczak (Dead Island, Call of Juarez, Dying Light) have been added to the game.
Witchfire has a regular price of $39.99. I assume once it hits Steam there will be a launch discount of some sort to bring that price down a bit.
