Baldur's Gate 3 takes home four awards after being nominated in 11 categories.

It was another huge night for Baldur's Gate 3 and Larian Studios. Though the 2023 RPG came up short of sweeping the 11 categories it was nominated in, it still managed to take home four awards at the 2024 BAFTA Games Awards.

One of those awards being the Best Game Award in which it beat out Alan Wake 2, Dave the Diver, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Baldur's Gate 3 also won in the categories of Best Narrative, Best Performer in a Supporting Role, and Best Music.

Alan Wake 2 won two awards at the 2024 BAFTA Games Awards. The Remedy developed thriller won for Audio Achievement and Artistic Achievement. Viewfinder won in Best British Game and Best New Intellectual Property. Super Mario Bros. Wonder won for Best Multiplayer and Best Family title.

This year's Special Award recipient is the gaming charity, SpecialEffect. This organization makes use of various technologies to make games more accessible and enjoyable for those with physical challenges. SpecialEffect uses the knowledge and expertise of occupational therapists, gaming specialists, and technology to create control setups that help hundreds of people each year.
