Nightdive Studios released a new gameplay video for System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. This comes to you shortly after the footage made its debut at The Indie Horror Showcase earlier today.
System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition is a remaster of the 1999 classic sci-fi action-RPG horror game. Like most of Nightdive's other works, System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition is being rebuilt for modern platforms using their KEX Engine. This means you will have some improved visuals, enhanced gameplay, and support for up to 4K resolution and 120FPS.
System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition will be out "in the near future" for PC via Steam and GOG, plus PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Those that pre-ordered the recently released System Shock remake on Steam or GOG will get System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for free at release.
Set 42 years after the events of the first System Shock, SHODAN and her army of merciless mutants infest the starship Von Braun. Players embody a soldier who awakes from cryo-sleep with cybernetic implants grafted to his flesh. As he sets out to unravel the horrifying mystery of the derelict starship, he’ll need to hone his upgradable soldier skills and utilize powerful weapons and paranormal psionic abilities to survive the monstrous creations of SHODAN — and endure her narcissistic god complex.
