The release shifts from April to May.

Though Hogwarts Legacy has been out for a little while now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the last-gen release was nowhere to be seen. That's because that last-gen version was expected to be out on April 4, 2023. Now, that April release has been pushed back further, meaning that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners won't get to play until May 5, 2023.

The official Twitter account for Hogwarts Legacy says that this delay is necessary in order "to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms." Given the various technical hiccups and performance issues on the newer hardware and even on PC, it's perhaps not too surprising to hear that the last-gen versions need some more time in the oven.

As for the announced Nintendo Switch release? That one still seems to be on track for release on July 25, 2023. It will be very interesting to see how that Switch version comes out given that stable performance isn't even a guarantee on hardware that is several orders of magnitude more powerful than that thing.

As far as I am aware, gameplay of the last-gen and Switch versions of Hogwarts Legacy have not been shown to the public. I'm sure it's fine and there is nothing to worry about.
