CS:GO is a booming game with millions of fans worldwide. Besides, the shooter is a source of pleasure and income for rooters placing bets on https://gg.bet/en/counter-strike/. People keep a close eye on cyber athletes since the match’s outcome depends on them. And even their private lives are important to predict results more or less precisely. Esports often make its fans happy with prominent names, but sometimes there are disappointments.
The Danish eSports club Astralis has parted ways with the CS:GO player Kristian k0nfig Wienecke. He had not competed in any matches since September due to a leg injury and was rumored to have been injured in a street fight in Malta.
The organization stated that Wienecke would leave Astralis for personal reasons that he did not want to discuss publicly. However, the player decided to tell the story and lost his contract with the club. Fears were confirmed.
The incident occurred the night after losing to Heroic at the ESL Pro League. Disappointed, team members were going to leave Malta the next day, but first decided to have a little distraction from defeat and enjoy themselves. So after a few bars, some guys went to the club, and Wienecke went to grab a bite aiming to join them later.
According to k0nfig, a promoter stopped him at the entrance of the club. He insulted a cyber athletes and refused to let him in. After the fight, the club member spat in the player’s face and hit him. A few minutes later, the story received a sequel.
In total shock, Kristian sat on the sidewalk and tried to understand what had happened. Suddenly, he saw the promoter going somewhere in great haste. Then, according to the cyber athlete, he felt the injustice and decided to catch up with him. Eventually, they fought, and the promoter broke Wienecke’s leg, making him fall to the ground.
How Kristian k0nfig Wienecke Had a Run through of This Life
The cyber athlete admits with regret that he had to stay out of the conflict and immediately go home. k0nfig also reported that Maltese law enforcement authorities investigated the case and recognized him as a victim. They suspected the other side of the conflict of ingesting illegal substances.
Let’s note that the guy is too subject to injuries. In 2021, when playing Complexity Gaming, Kristian k0nfig Wienecke broke his wrist and took painkillers to handle his condition. Moreover, the cyber athlete is notorious for suffering from alcohol dependency. And that is the main reason for his inadequate behavior. However, k0nfig states he doesn’t drink anymore and tries to solve his mental problems with a psychologist. He has survived two serious operations on the ankle. Both went smoothly and made the guy wear an air retainer to correct the foot position.
It should be said that Kristian’s lifestyle affected fans’ confidence in Astralis. They’ve always considered the club a professional organization, but after the situation around k0nfig, many people don’t know what to think.
Will CS:GO continue without k0nfig in the eSports arena? Maybe, his previous achievements stand him in good stead. Let’s recall that Kristian k0nfig Wienecke rose to fame when playing for OpTic Gaming in 2018. The cyber athlete broke the CS: GO record with 47 kills in regulation versus Renegades on Overpass in DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018. Henrique “HEN1†Teles held the previous record with a score of 45 points. However, Kristian’s performance did not help his team reach the DreamHack tournament’s main draw at that time. As a result, opTic Gaming lost to Renegades and missed the Master's tournament in Marseilles.
