Following up on a really brief rumor earlier today, comes confirmation that Respawn Entertainment is indeed working on a new Star Wars game. In fact, they're working on three new Star Wars titles.

EA, Respawn, and Lucasfilm Games are teaming up to deliver three titles, all of which will be different gaming genres. Respawn founder Vince Zampella will oversee these three titles alongside Lucasfilm.

The first game is the next entry in the Star Wars Jedi series. This one seemed to be an obvious one given how well Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sold and was received. This one has Stig Asmussen serving as game director. The second title is a new Star Wars FPS with Peter Hirschmann serving as the game lead. The third and final title is a strategy game that is being developed alongside the newly formed Bit Reactor studio and led by Greg Foerstch. Respawn is acting more as a producer on this last title while Bit Reactor does most of the development.

Work has already started on all three of these projects. Respawn is hiring right now for a number of positions to help with development on these titles. You can check out their job listings for yourself at Respawn's career page.

“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn,” said Douglas Reilly, VP, Lucasfilm Games. “They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Warsstories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”

“Building on the previous successes of our EA relationship, this new collaboration highlights the trust and mutual respect shared between the world-class teams at EA, Respawn and Lucasfilm Games,” said Sean Shoptaw, SVP, Walt Disney Games. “Fostered by the expertise and passion within each team, we will create thrilling original games for diverse audiences across the Star Wars galaxy.”

“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell,” said Peter Hirschmann, game director at Respawn. Peter previously worked as VP of development at LucasArts, and was executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront games. Hirschmann and the team at Respawn have just begun work on the title.
