CD Projekt Red announced today that their upcoming free-to-play, location based AR RPG called The Witcher: Monster Slayer, will be released on July 21st.

This game has been developed and published by Spokko, and is set to take place prior to the events of The Witcher games. This is a time "where monsters freely roam the land in large numbers."

In Monster Slayer, players will get to see the world around them turn into the dark-fantasy world they have come to know and love from The Witcher universe. You will assume the role of a newly trained witcher and will "engage with location-based gameplay and advanced augmented reality features to track down and hunt bloodthirsty monsters lurking nearby." It's like Pokemon Go but you're hunting evil creatures instead of cute Pokemon.

Android users can currently pre-register on Google Play in order to be notified the moment the game launches. You will also get the Kaer Morhen Steel Sword for pre-registering. This will give you a 10% experience boost for every monster that you kill.
