Financial results are always a fun time for finding out things that we previously did not know. For instance, Take-Two Interactive shared their financial results for the fiscal year 2021 today, which ended on March 31, 2021. What did we learn?

Well, we found out that Grand Theft Auto V has now shipped 145 million copies to retailers. This is up from the pitiful 140 million shipped from just three months ago. This figure will only continue to grow, especially on November 11, 2021 when Rockstar Games releases the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of Grand Theft Auto V. Details on what this new release actually offers to consumers has not yet been revealed. Rockstar says that they are planning even more content updates for GTA Online in the coming Summer months.

Rockstar's other major franchise saw big numbers this past year as well. Red Dead Redemption 2 has now shipped more than 37 million copies across all platforms. Like GTA Online, Red Dead Online will get more updates this Summer.

While we know of at least one game that won't be out until next year, Take-Two still has some big plans in store for new game releases.

Over the next three years, Take-Two is planning on releasing 62 games. Included will be at least two new franchises, one of which is coming from Gearbox Software. Recently, Gearbox's Randy Pitchford all but confirmed that a Borderlands spin-off game is coming.

Take-Two's revenues were up 9% to $3.373 billion while profits rose 46% to $588.9 million.
