New Overwatch series director Aaron Keller said today that Overwatch 2's PvP will be revealed during a livestream taking place on May 20. This was announced today via Keller's first ever developer update since taking over for Jeff Kaplan.

This upcoming stream will feature Keller alongside lead designer Geoff Goodman, art director Dion Rogers, and others in the development team. They will show off new maps for the game and talk about the driving "philosophy" behind some of the changes that are coming to Overwatch 2.

Keller says that "everything that we'll be showing is under development and still a work in progress." There will be more on Overwatch 2's PvP component coming later this year.

If that wasn't enough for you, fans will be able to ask the developers questions directly as part of an upcoming Reddit AMA. The main focus will be on the past five years of Overwatch but Keller says that the team is still "dedicated to sharing more information on the development of Overwatch 2 with all of you."

Overwatch 2 does not yet have a release date, but a vague "2022" release window seems to be the most plausible at this current point in time.
