Need for Speed Heat

Developer Ghost Games and publisher EA today announced that a new Need for Speed game is coming, and probably arriving sooner than you think. The latest is called Need for Speed Heat and it's slated to arrive on November 8 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin. Those with Origin Access Premier or the Play First Trial will get access to the game starting November 5.

Though we have a few details to share with you now, a larger gameplay reveal will be held on August 19 at the start of Gamescom.

EA says that this game will include the things that fans love the most about the Need for Speed franchise. This includes "expressive customization, authentic urban car culture, and an immersive narrative." The action takes places in the open-world location of Palm City. During the day, you will get to compete in the Speedhunters Showdown events. This is a sanctioned competition where players can "earn Bank to customize and upgrade their garage of high-performance cars." When night falls, players will try to build up their reputation by taking place in underground races where a "rogue police task force roams the streets."

Pre-order incentives on the standard edition include a K.S Edition styled Mitsubishi Evolution X. Pre-orders of the Deluxe Edition adds in three additional K.S Edition styled cars including the BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, and the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. This version also includes exclusive character clothing, plus increased earnings of the in-game currencies: Bank (money) and Rep (reputation).

EA is also offering a 10% discount to anybody that pre-orders the game from within Need for Speed Payback.
