Yesterday, Steam Database discovered a few new additions that snuck their way into the latest Steam beta client update. Those additions seem to point towards some new media types that could be added to the Steam Store or your Steam catalog at some point in the near future.
If true, it will be very interesting to see what Valve will bring to the table. Will these offerings be solely for games and game related content or will they branch out to take on competitors such as Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon? It's also very curious what is meant with the "plugin" entry there. Plugins for the Steam client? Perhaps to help in streaming content to other devices in your house such as a Chromecast or Plex device? Only time will tell.
