Team Fortress 2 Update Adds 64-bit Support; Big Performance Gains Reported

Some report framerate increases of up to 20%.

On April 18, 2024, Valve released an update for Team Fortress 2. This alone isn't terribly noteworthy, if only because Valve (well, at least one person at Valve) has been actively updating the competitive team shooter somewhat regularly over the past year. What is notable here is the fact that last night's update added 64-bit support for the 17-year old game.

I had actually completely ignored last night's update when it came...

  • How Many Games Did You Complete in 2025?
    by Shawn Zipay
Make up your own definition of "complete."

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
