This time, it's the total opposite of a delay.

After being delayed several times already, one might expect that another news post about Dead Island 2's release date means yet another delay was announced. Thankfully, today's Dead Island 2 release date news is good! After slipping from a February 3, 2023 release to an April 28, 2023 release, it was announced today that Dead Island 2 will now be out on April 21, 2023!

I won't lie. I fully expected there to be far more news to post today (January 2, 2023) given that it's the start of the week and the holidays are "technically" over. What I failed to realize is that a ton of people are still off work due to the New Year falling on a Sunday. Dead Island 2 was announced way back at E3 2014. The announcement trailer was pretty great. It was supposed to be out Spring 2015. Then it was delayed until 2016. Volition is said to be "deep in development" on a new Saints Row game, according to publisher THQ Nordic. The company said that the game is still currently untitled and does not yet have any announced release date. However, this will be a "full entry" in the Saints Row franchise.
