Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Multiple studios across all SIE regions impacted.

Sony just laid off about 900 people across multiple PlayStation studios around the world. These 900 or so laid off employees account for roughly 8% of the total workforce for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, announced the layoffs to the public today. The public statement came after an email was sent to all employees informing them of the layoffs. From Ryan's...

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

  • New Tease from Xbox Community Manager Might Be for Call of Duty: World at War II

The Xbox Canada Community Manager, Raj Patel, Tweeted out the following teaser image earlier today.

The not so secret morse code translates to: "Presented by Xbox, 10am PDT, 1pm EST, May 4th 2015"

Interesting, the red "II" does close resemble this other "leaked" image from the day prior. This image is said to be faked but the similarities between the two are unmistakable. It could just be a huge coincidence, however.

Exo Zombies Havoc Trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

The longer cut of the Exo Zombies Havoc trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released a very short time ago by Sledgehammer and Activision today. There's some really insane looking things going on in this trailer, the least of which is John Malkovich.

Naturally, Xbox owners get the DLC first on January 27. The rest of the world has to wait for an undisclosed later date. I'm guessing it's going to be at least another month of waiting while that gloriously lame exclus...

Exo Zombies Mode is Coming in January to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

The new co-op zombie Exo Survival mode for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is slated to arrive this January 2015.
As things were wrapping up around launch, we started playing around with the idea of what happens when zombies were thrown into the mix with exoskeleton gameplay. What we came up with is Exo Zombies — an entirely new breed of zombies and an entirely new co-op experience that is truly unique to Advanced Warfare. The first chapter of Exo Zombies will be coming with the Havoc D

  • Activision Claims Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the Biggest Entertainment Launch of 2014

Activision busted out the PR machine today and made the bold claim that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the "biggest entertainment launch of the year." Yes, that once again means they did better than other game releases, movies, music, and books for 2014.

Of course, that isn't terribly hard to do when the starting price for a game is far and above the starting price of a movie, a music album, or a book. Moving on... Activision also noted that thanks to the big sales of Advanced...

  • Activision Explains Lack of Share Play for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on PS4

The Internet was doing its usual Internet thing these past few days. They were upset that Activision had apparently blocked off the entirety of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from being shared through the new PlayStation 4 feature, Share Play.
"Delivering a great gaming experience for fans is our top priority," the company says in a statement we received via email. "We’re focused on launching Advanced Warfare and ensuring that people have a great time playing it, which our fans

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is Now Available

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is now available in North America on PC and both old systems and new systems. It probably includes a bunch of explosions and stuff. Also, lots of bad guys are probably in the game. Maybe this year will be a five hour campaign of peaceful negotiations instead of violence. Hey, you never know. I think I'm also legally obligated to make the "House of CODs" joke before you guys get a chance to. As has become "tradition" around these parts, I'm sure I'll b...
