During the latest XBOX Games Showcase, Activision shared a look at the new DMZ experience from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. This is being billed as the "definitive Call of Duty extraction shooter experience."
DMZ in Modern Warfare 4 will support wither solo or squad play, with the main goal being to infiltrate, recover advanced military technology, and extract successfully. There will be various weather conditions to contend with, dynamic military objectives, and pockets of hostile forces throughout the play zone.
An interview with Joe Cecot, studio multiplayer creative director, sheds a bunch of additional light on the DMZ experience in Modern Warfare 4. DMZ along with the rest of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, will be out on October 23, 2026. Call of Duty remains a multiplatform release and will be out on XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net, and Switch 2. It won't be out on Game Pass until 2027, a change that was made in the most recent price adjustment for Game Pass.
