According to the latest financial report from Activision, the Call of Duty franchise has surpassed 250 million units sold. However, we knew all of that already. Fortunately, the company expanded a bit on this information in today's report.

Activision noted that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 had a great launch. It was the "biggest entertainment opening weekend" for 2015. It was also the "#1 console game globally for the calendar year" and the "#1 franchise in North America for the seventh year in a row." Black Ops 3 also had the highest Season Pass attach rate for the franchise.

With those 250 million units sold comes $15 billion in total sales. This monetary figure also includes the sale of in-game content.
