At long last, those with recent ATI cards can finally experience the framerate benefits that the Mantle API brings to the table. We're talking about some fairly substantial framerate gains in some cases over DirectX 11.
First off, go pick up the AMD Catalyst 14.1 beta drivers and enable the Mantle API within the Battlefield 4 settings. It's recommended that you do a clean install of these drivers and not simply install over your old drivers. Installing over your old drivers with...

DICE Details How to Enable Mantle Battlefield 4 and What to Expect Once Enabled
While Mantle support has been added in today's Battlefield 4 update, it still isn't able to be used until AMD rolls out a new video driver. Until then, DICE details all you need to know about how to enable it within the game and what to expect once it's enabled.
Battlefield 4 on PC is already quite heavily optimized using DirectX 11 and DirectX 11.1, but with Mantle we are able to go even further: we’ve significantly reduced CPU cost in our rendering, efficiently parallelized it over multiple... -

Upcoming Battlefield 4 Pistol Tweaks Detailed by DICE
Not content just with buffing soldier weapons or mucking around with vehicle balance, they're also working on tweaks for the pistols in Battlefield 4.
Another blog post that went up today details a few ways in which they're attempting to bring balance to the various pistols in the game.
1) Increased the aimed accuracy of the M1911 to make it a viable choice once the COMPACT 45 has been unlocked. This gives the M1911 a clear accuracy advantage for range, while the COMPACT 45... -

DICE Announces February as Player Appreciation Month - Includes Free Unlocks, Battlepacks, and More
DICE has decided to turn February into Player Appreciation Month for Battlefield 4. Think of it as their way of saying "sorry" for releasing one of the biggest blunders of the modern gaming era.
So, what does this mean for you, the player? They first open by saying they're still working on the "netcode" for the game that they feel wwill "tighten the overall multiplayer experience" for the game. Details are light on this but hopefully more will be revealed in the next month.... -

DICE Reveals Plans on Vehicle Balancing Tweaks Coming to Battlefield 4
After trying for a few hours just to get their blog to load, I finally see now how DICE plans to introduce even more balance to the vehicles in Battlefield 4.
Aircraft and Anti-Aircraft 1) Reduced the total amount of missiles carried by the Mobile Anti-Aircraft vehicles from 6 to 4. The total carried missiles were making it impossible for helicopters to use counter measures to avoid the MAA’s attacks. 2) Reduced the velocity of the MAA’s default 20MM CANNON from 1200m/s to 8... -

Battlefield 4 Running on Mantle Runs Up to '45% Faster'
During AMD's CES 2014 conference, the company discussed a bit about their upcoming Mantle API and how it will impact Battlefield 4 performance. They said that they've seen "up to" 45% increases in framerate in some cases in Battlefield 4.
The part of the above video that is important to you begins around the 30:30 mark. Comparison video footage was not shown off, though they seem to have shown off a few brief segments of the game running with Mantle. Unfortunately, their p... -

Rumor: EA May Offer Free Battlefield 4 DLC as Apology for Releasing a Buggy Mess
As a way of apologizing to the community, EA may offer up some free DLC for Battlefield 4 if current rumors are to be believed. It isn't much to go on, but the rumor suggests that DICE and EA will give out some free DLC to make up for releasing what is arguably the buggiest AAA release of 2013. If it's the China Rising DLC, that would be really stupid considering most everyone already has that anyway. Will it be Second Assault? Maybe, but then those who purchased the Season Pass will be... -
