During AMD's CES 2014 conference, the company discussed a bit about their upcoming Mantle API and how it will impact Battlefield 4 performance. They said that they've seen "up to" 45% increases in framerate in some cases in Battlefield 4.
The part of the above video that is important to you begins around the 30:30 mark.
Comparison video footage was not shown off, though they seem to have shown off a few brief segments of the game running with Mantle. Unfortunately, their presentation showing off how great Mantle is did include a few complete lockups for a few seconds.
Mantle support in Battlefield 4 is slated to be released later this month. It will eventually be included with over 20 games, mainly those from EA using the Frostbite game engine. Mantle is only going to be available to those running some of the latest videocards from AMD/ATI.

#1nemes1s3000 commented01-08-2014, 08:58 PMEditing a commentIt's not much of a demo. Just announcing that BF4 runs faster. And took me a while to figure out that the presenter was a chick. I'm horrible I know. -
#2cikame commented01-09-2014, 12:28 PMEditing a commentMy PC is just over a year old now and i have frame rate to spare, BF4 is a nice test but it would be more interesting to see how something like Arma 3 runs on it, that may be more of a CPU issue however.

by Shawn ZipayThe multiplayer more than makes up for the "dull" campaign.
The initial batch of reviews for Battlefield 6 indicate that yes, Battlefield is back! This is assuming you ignore the "short," "disappointing," and "dull" single player campaign. At least the multiplayer component seems to more than make up for the massively disappointing campaign.
The average critical score on OpenCritic for Battlefield 6 is 84% with 92% of all critics...-

by Shawn ZipayMantle, the little API that could is apparently winding down on the development side of things. This is according to AnandTech, who in their review of the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X, says that there are no more improvements coming for Mantle. AMD has reportedly "thrown all of their weight behind Vulkan and DirectX 12, telling developers that future games should use those APIs and not Mantle." Vulkan is essentially the rebirth of OpenGL and was actually initially called the "next generation ...
