Epic Games announced yesterday that they are increasing the prices on purchasing V-Bucks. You will now get less for more. You will also earn a lot fewer V-Bucks through the seasonal Battle Passes. The multi-billion dollar company says that they need help to "pay the bills."
Beginning March 19th, Epic Games will offer players fewer V-Bucks in each paid pack. They are also adjusting the cost of the seasonal Battle Passes while also offering fewer V-Bucks as seasonal rewards in each Pass.
- $8.99 pack - 800 V-Bucks (was 1,000)
- $22.99 pack - 2,400 V-Bucks (was 2,800)
- $36.99 pack - 4,500 V-Bucks (was 5,000)
- $89.99 Pack - 12,500 V-Bucks (was 13,500)
- Exact amount pack – $0.99 for 50 V-Bucks (was $0.49 for 50)
Pricing changes are also hitting other Passes offered by Epic Games in Fortnite. There are pricing changes for the Music Pass and the LEGO Pass.
- OG Pass - 800 V-Bucks (was 1,000)
- Music Pass - 1,200 V-Bucks (was 1,400)
- Lego Pass - 1,200 V-Bucks (was 1,400)
Naturally, fans on social media are voicing their anger over these changes. The community was already growing more and more irate at the cost of cosmetic items offered through the in-game Fortnite Item Shop. Complaints were mainly focused on there being too many collabs compared to original content. Fans are also angry that bundles now cost more for fewer items compared to even just a year or two ago.
Shortly after announcing this increase in price for V-Bucks, Epic Games also announced that they are finally releasing the free-to-play version of Save the World after a nearly nine year wait.
In 2025, Epic Games revealed that players spent $1.16 billion just on the Epic Games Store. In total, it's estimated that Epic Games generated over $6.2 billion in gross revenue throughout 2025.
