Nintendo released the first official set photographs from The Legend of Zelda, the upcoming live-action movie based off of the franchise of the same name. The film had reportedly started production just earlier this month.
The official images were posted to the Nintendo Today app. They give us our first look at Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjaimin Evan Ainsworth as Link. The images show the two standing in field somewhere in New Zealand, which will, through the power of movie magic, be transformed into the lands of Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda film was announced in 2023. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is serving as a producer on the film alongside Avi Arad. Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Maze Runner) is the film's director. The screenplay is being handled by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker).
Miyamoto also took to social media today to announce that filming for The Legend of Zelda is now officially underway.
