    A release is finally within sight.

    It has been almost 6 years since Nightdive Studios announced that an "Enhanced Edition" of System Shock 2 was in development. The development went on for so long that the 25th anniversary for System Shock 2 is now here, which prompted an entire name change for the aforementioned Enhanced Edition.

    Now called System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Nightdive says that they will finally get this release out to fans on June 26, 2025.

    Nightdive shared a new trailer today at the Future Game Show Spring Showcase. They showed how they modernized the 1999 classic sci-fi FPS-RPG for modern platforms. It will be released through Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Humble Bundle Store, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. Some storefronts, are already accepting pre-orders for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. The regular price is $29.99 but there are several places where there is a -10% pre-purchase promotional discount.

      I very rarely preorder games. Not for bonuses, but for i-have-money-now reasons, and only games i absolutely trust. This is one of them.
