During a special livestream event, Firaxis Games revealed a post-launch roadmap for its upcoming Sid Meier's Civilization 7. The shared roadmap includes several pieces of content that Firaxis plans to release throughout 2025 and includes various free and paid bits of content.
Some of the new content includes new Leaders, new Civilizations, and even some additional Natural Wonders. The month of March will feature the release of the paid content, Crossroads of the World. April through September will include the Right to Rule paid content.
This roadmap was shared today during a new developer livestream, which you can (hopefully) see embedded below.
Going by the roadmap, the Crossroads of the World release is paid content that is included with the Deluxe and Founders Editions. Firaxis is also breaking up that release into two separate updates. The first update in early March will add Ada Lovelace, Carthage, Great Britain, and four Natural Wonders. The second half in late March will add Simon Bolivar, Bulgaria, and Nepal.
The Right to Rule content expansion will begin to roll out at some point in April. This paid content will add two new leaders, four new Civilizations, and four new World Wonders.
From March through September, the free content includes title updates for bug fixes and adjustments, new events, and new Natural Wonders. Firaxis hasn't detailed what's coming after September, noting only that there's "more to come" from October onward.
Sid Meier's Civilization 7 is out on February 11, 2025. Those who get the Deluxe or Founders Edition of the game will get to play five days early on February 6. While you wait, Firaxis has been putting up various developer diary articles that go over some of the game's core mechanics. Their most recent diary talks about, you guessed it, some of these post-launch plans. It also talks about some of the different victory conditions for a game of Civilization 7 for those who may not be too familiar with this strategy franchise.
