During Sony's CES 2025 conference, the company announced two new films and one new anime series based off of a few of their most popular franchises.
Sony says that Helldivers 2 is being made into a film. It is coming via a collaboration between Sony Productions and Sony Pictures. Helldivers 2, the game, is developed by Arrowhead and released on PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8, 2024.
Another film from Sony was also announced this evening. A film based off of Horizon Zero Dawn is coming from PlayStation Studios and Columbia Pictures. This film will cover the origins of Horizon's main protagonist, Aloy.
Somewhat related is word that the live-action Until Dawn film will focus on new characters and an entirely new story.
Finally, Sony announced that there will be a Ghost of Tsushima anime coming to Crunchyroll. This series is expected to more closely follow the Legends co-op multiplayer component rather than the single player story from Sucker Punch's game. Look for this one in 2027.
